VERNDALE — A Verndale man was seriously hurt in a pickup-semi collision Thursday on Highway 10 in Wadena County.
Donald Paul Behsman, 80, of Verndale suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the St. Cloud hospital, according to the State Patrol. It’s not known if he was wearing a seatbelt or if airbags deployed in his pickup truck.
He was eastbound on Highway 10 in a 2006 Dodge Ram and collided with a 2014 Kenworth Semi that was also eastbound on Highway 10. Specifics of the crash were not released by the State Patrol.
The driver of the semi, Cody Ryan Peterson, 37, of Pillager, was not injured, according to the State Patrol. He was wearing a seatbelt and it’s not known if airbags deployed in the Kenworth. Alcohol was not a factor.
The crash was reported at 10:39 a.m. on dry pavement at mile marker 99, in Aldrich Township. The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
