Suspected murder-suicide reported in Battle Lake

The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office received a report of a suspicious death in Battle Lake on Monday.

BATTLE LAKE — The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a suspicious death on Monday, Nov. 21 at about 2:30 p.m. in Battle Lake. They found one man (59) and one woman (58) dead at a residence, according to a sheriff's office press release.

The sheriff's office believes this to be a murder-suicide. It's being investigated as an isolated incident, and they reported that there is no known threat to the public.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Midwest Medical Examiners Office are assisting the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office with the investigation. While the investigation is ongoing, names of the deceased will be withheld.
