Student news: Locals college graduates, honorees announced

The following area students were recognized for their efforts in education.

WADENA — The following students were recognized for their accolades in college education.

NDSU honors

Summer Pettit, daughter of Cory Pettit and Sarah Resch, Wadena, received the NDSU Development Foundation Honor Scholarship and the NDSU Presidential Honor Award at North Dakota State University. The NDSU Development Foundation Honor Scholarship recognizes students with high academic achievement, and the NDSU Presidential Honor Award recognizes students who scored a 29-31 on the ACT and have a 3.5 or higher high school GPA.
Pettit will enter NDSU in the fall and major in nursing. In high school, she was active in band, choir, basketball, volleyball, Fishing League, Knowledge Bowl and National Honor Society. She also was a baseball manager.
