Police Blotter: Stolen, found and damaged bikes common among reports

Just a few of the many incident reports from Wadena Police Department in the past weeks.

June 2
4:43 p.m.: A male crashed into a tree and is now bleeding from the head. Deputies assisted the Wadena Police Department with the crash.
June 3
6:50 p.m.: Report of two dogs out running that growled at children.
9:10 p.m.: An individual was burning and was told they needed a permit. They responded that they would put out the fire. The individual was arrested on an Otter Tail County warrant.
June 4
9:58 a.m.: A 3-year-old boy was spotted crossing Hwy 71 in Sebeka. A deputy located the mother and father. Child was located and OK. A child protection report was made.
10:59 p.m.: A vehicle was found in the ditch with someone trying to pull it out. The driver was cited for careless driving.
June 5
9:30 a.m.: Deputy assisted at house fire. Believed to be faulty wiring that started the fire.
11:48 a.m.: A shed was started on fire when the owner accidentally started a fire while welding on his lawnmower. Owner had no insurance on the shed and lost all equipment inside.

May 24
12:39 a.m.: Two seniors were participating in a senior prank and were talked to by an officer. The high school principal addressed the situation with the remaining students at school.
May 25
11:56 a.m.: A theft of coins from an apartment was reported on Second Street NW.
1:22 p.m.: Damage to a motorcycle was reported. It appeared it was struck on the side of the street overnight possibly by a vehicle.
2:49 p.m.: A vehicle was keyed at the driver's home on Third Street SW. Scratches were made on multiple areas of the car.
May 26
8:13 a.m.: A UPS driver did not deliver a package due to the bad smell coming from it.
May 27
2:29 p.m.: A woman reported a purple bike was stolen from behind her home within the last few days.
8:02 p.m.: A caller reported a little girl on a bike with a pink shirt and blue hat was almost struck by a train at the Second Street SW intersection.
May 28
11:03 p.m.: A man was given a citation for riding his bike without a light at night.
June 1
1:54 a.m.: A man rode his bike to work and believes another man stole the bike while on Jefferson Street N.
June 2
9:43 a.m.: A skid loader and skid loader trailer were stolen from Russ Davis lot on Fourth Street NE.
June 4
8:18 a.m.: A bike was found by the railroad tracks. Will be at the police department.
June 6
7:17 p.m.: Caller believes there is a squatter in the Sunnybrook campground. He was going from camper to camper asking to stay with campers. The man left all his property at a site and was headed for the bathrooms.
June 7
A woman reported her storage unit was broken into and multiple items were stolen.
June 9
6:45 a.m.: A male party was found sleeping in the upstairs laundry room at Hockert's Apartments. An officer advised him to be on his way. He gathered his belongings then threw his bike on the ground. He was advised he could go to the public property area. He then threw his bike in the road, eventually crossed the street and yelled "white power."
