Nearly $100,000 in scholarships awarded to WDC seniors

The funds came from about 60 sources in the community.

WADENA — Over $97,000 in scholarships was awarded to Wadena-Deer Creek seniors on Wednesday, May 18, representing the extensive amount of giving from the community.
The dollars came from about 60 sources and were awarded to just 24 of the 53 seniors expected to graduate. The special event was during the annual awards night on Wednesday, May 18.

"Thank you to the many donors that made the senior awards night so special," said WDC Superintendent Lee Westrum. "We are grateful for the support provided by the community and alumni for our students. Congratulations to the Class of 2022, you are a very kind and talented class and you will be missed."
