M State Wadena blood drive is on March 1

The drive is a Battle of the Badges event honoring the Wadena Police and Fire Departments.

WADENA — The Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Wadena is hosting a Battle of the Badges blood drive for Vitalant from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 1. The Battle of the Badges event honors the Wadena Police and Fire Departments.

The drive helps blood supplies be available for people who are in need.

Donors will receive a free t-shirt while supplies last. You can sign up for an appointment by calling Dave Uselman at 218-631-7871 or visiting donors.vitalant.org . You can use the code: MStateWadena.

The American Red Cross has declared the first-ever national blood crisis. Lessened blood donations are impacted by winter weather, COVID-19 challenges and holiday schedules.

  • Wadena: March 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Maslowski Wellness and Research Center, 17 SW 5th Street
  • Staples: March 4 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Staples Community Center, 425 NE 4th Street
  • Bluffton: March 8 from 1-7 p.m. at the Community Center, 202 Center Street
  • Verndale: March 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school, 411 SW Brown Street
