WADENA — There are six girls competing for the crown in the Miss Wadena Scholarship Pageant planned for June 26 at the Wadena Memorial Auditorium.
The theme of this year's event is "The Grand Adventure" and looks to take the audience on a trip around the world.
But before you leave, get to know the candidates a bit better.
Grace Gallant
Grace is sponsored by H&R Block and is the daughter of Norm and Mandy Gallant. Her sister, Madelyn Gallant, is also a candidate this year.
Grace's talents include singing and playing guitar. She'll be performing a piece called "Hallelujah" by Cloverton.
Grace graduated in May and plans to attend the University of Minnesota Morris to pursue a double major of CMR (communication, media, rhetoric) and psychology with a goal of going into either public relations or marketing.
Her hobbies include photography, graphic design and spending time outdoors.
Zoe Curtis
Zoe is sponsored by Greiman's Printing and is the daughter of Doug and Michelle Curtis. Her siblings include Dustin, Kendra, Raine and Corabeth.
Zoe's talent is painting. She graduates in 2023 and hopes to attend college or a university to major in elementary education and become a first grade teacher — at Wadena-Deer Creek School.
Zoe enjoys swimming, fishing with her dad and grandpa, drawing, riding bike. roller skating, being outside, going to camp and being with friends and family.
Kaylin Lupkes
Kaylin is sponsored by Cozy Theatre and Comet Theatre and is the daughter of Kevin and Tammy Lupkes. Her siblings include Kylie, Dawson and Lexie.
Kaylin's talent is singing and she plans to perform "A Whole New World" from the Disney movie Aladdin.
Kaylin graduated this May and has plans to attend Bemidji State University to major in elementary education. She enjoys being with friends and family, going to the lake, quilting, watching sports and baking.
Anna Osberg
Anna is sponsored by The Uptown and is the daughter of Jena and Erik Osberg. Her siblings include Leah and William.
Anna's talent is jazz dancing and she plans to perform "9 to 5" by Dolly Parton in a dance she choreographed with the help of Taliah Brown.
Anna graduated in May and plans to attend North Dakota State University to major in nursing. Her interests include dance, quilting, singing, photography, water skiing, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.

Danielle Dickey
Danielle is sponsored by Wadena Machining and Welding and Tony's Transfer. She is the daughter of Chad and Gloria Dickey and her brother is Chad Dickey, Jr.
Danielle graduates in 2023 and plans to enlist in the United States Army. If she attends college she plans to study to be a lawyer.
Danielle likes to drag race, spend time with family and friends, playing electric guitar, exploring new rock music to listen to, and going shopping at thrift stores for vintage rock band tees.
Madelyn Gallant
Madelyn is sponsored by Fresh Freeze. She is the daughter of Norm and Mandy Gallant and her sister is Grace Gallant. She plans to graduate in 2023 and attend a university to obtain a degree in mathematics or art.
She will be performing a song called "Watch What Happens" from the Broadway musical Newsies.
Her hobbies include running, wrestling, painting and spending time outdoors.
Little Attendants
This year's Little Attendants include girls in the 5-7 age range and include Gabby Kern, the daughter of Derek and Amber; Clara Morlock, the daughter of Alyssa Morlock; Abby Guck, the daughter of Brian and Erin; Lily Clapp, the daughter of Eric and Meagan; Cassidy Chandler, the daughter of Marie Chandler and Jeremy Chandler; and Hailey Nelson, the daughter of Keith and Heidi. Returning as Little Attendant 2021 is Ruby Petrowski, daughter of Tabitha and Scott.
Come enjoy the journey of these six girls seeking the title of Miss Wadena 2022. The pageant will have stops at Sydney's opera house, Rio de Janeiro, Paris, France, Milan, Italy, Broadway in New York City, then back to Wadena.
Advance tickets for the event are $5 and at the door for $6. Tickets can be found at Thrifty White Drug, Wadena State Bank or from any of the contestants. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the pageant begins at 7 p.m.
