Leona Anna (Babst) Hartjen, 90, passed away Jan. 26, 2007, in Amore, Mesa, Ariz.
She was born Nov. 25, 1916, in Wheaton, Minn., to Clara (Kurth) and Karl Babst. She married Milbert Hartjen, Sept. 26, 1936, at Wheaton. They lived at Dumont, Minn., many years and later moved to the Rush Lake area near Perham, retiring to Arizona in 1979. She enjoyed her family, fishing, playing bridge and knitting beautiful afghans.
Funeral services were Jan. 31 at Mesa, Ariz., with burial in the spring at Wheaton.
Survivors include her husband, Milbert; children, Yvonne (Floyd) Voeltz, Scottsdale, Ariz., Arnold (Shirley) Hartjen, Wadena, Rodney (Sherida) Hartjen, Mesa, Ariz., and Karen (Doyle) Hein of Park River, N.D.; sisters, Mae Johnston, Coon Rapids, Minn., Della (Orval) Cawelti, Coon Rapids, Dalla (Donald) Beyer, Coon Rapids; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Ruth Jensen, Dorothea Beyer and Helen Cooperrider.
