A benefit for Jeff Lehmkuhl, who was diagnosed in January 2003 with polycythemia vera, a blood disorder, will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Oct. 22 at Wadena Elks Lodge.
Lehmkuhl has been told by doctors that he needs a bone marrow transplant soon before the disease progresses into leukemia. A donor match has been found and he is awaiting the surgery.
A silent auction will be held and food will be prepared by TC Backyard BBQ: pulled pork sandwiches, beans, coleslaw, veggies and bars.
