Scoring goals was like eating peanuts for Wadena-Deer Creek's Joey Osborn Tuesday night -- once he got started he could not stop.
Osborn's four straight goals erased a 2-1 Detroit Lakes lead Tuesday night and led the Wolverines to a 6-2 boys' hockey victory Tuesday over their Mid-State rivals.
The WDC tri-captain's outstanding scoring feat was helped along by four assists from Colter Pettit and four more from Taylor Bienusa.
The Lakers took over after Brandon Wing scored at the 9:58 mark of the opening period to give WDC a 1-0 lead. The Lakers peppered Tyler Muehler with 13 shots and made two of their shots good. The first goal came at the 8:05 mark when Saunders scored with an assist from Baker. The second came on a power play with 49 seconds left when Baker scored off assists from Phelps and Lane.
Detroit Lakes goalie Widme faced only two shots in the first period.

Osborn's flurry started slowly. His breakaway goal at the 12:15 mark was the only score of the second period.
Osborn started his third period blitz at the 12:23 mark. He tacked up two more goals at 6:09 and 4:39.
Trevor Ness took some of the scoring load on his shoulders with 1:05 to go when he scored off a feed by Wing.
Muehler stood up to an aggressive Detroit Lakes attack by stopping 33 shots and giving the Wolverines two scoreless periods in goal.
The victory puts Dan Savoie's team back on the winning track after losses to Fairbault and Marshall and primes the Wolverines for a Feb. 3 trip to the home ice of state-ranked Little Falls.
