Larry Koste, 65, of New York Mills, passed away May 31, 2007, at his home.
Larry Robert Koste was born April 14, 1942, in Duluth. His parents were the late Carl and Mary (Kampsula) Koste. He graduated from New York Mills High School with the class of 1960. On Nov. 26, 1960, he was united in marriage with Elsie Margaret Peters at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bluffton. They resided in Wadena until making their home in Newton Township, rural New York Mills, in 1963. He was employed with Lund Boats in New York Mills for 22 years. He was a person who could fix almost anything. He enjoyed tinkering for hours in his garage. He also enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting, ice fishing and mowing lawn with his John Deere tractor. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, at the Karvonen and Son Funeral Home in New York Mills with the Rev. Stan Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in New York Mills. Arrangements were provided by the Karvonen and Son Funeral Home of New York Mills.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Elsie Koste of New York Mills; daughter, Cindy Koste of New York Mills; sons, Randy Koste of New York Mills; Scott (Kari) Koste of Riverton, N.J.; five grandchildren; brother, Carl (Judy) Koste of Perley; brother-in-law, Bruce "Buck" Johnson of Fairmont; many other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; parents, Carl and Mary; sister, Yvonne Johnson, and brother, Kenny Niemela.
