Lakewood Health System will celebrate the opening of its new clinic in Browerville from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 11. The public is welcome to attend a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m., with refreshments and tours to follow. Lakewood Health System staff and administrators will be in attendance to give tours, answer questions and visit with the public.
The clinic is just south of Browerville on U.S. Highway 71 near Dan's Prize and will be open for business on Monday, March 15. Groundbreaking for the clinic was in September 2009 by NorSon Construction Company. Lakewood Health System will continue to offer clinic services in Browerville at the address of 333 Gillis Ave. S. until March 15.
In early 2009, Lakewood Health System officials made the decision to build a new clinic to accommodate community growth and the need for additional services. The new building improves visibility for U.S. Highway 71 traffic and offers the convenience of more parking and accessibility. The 6,400 square foot clinic includes six exam rooms -- three more than the previous location, physical therapy services and the addition of a second medical provider. Also new to Browerville, a Lakewood Health System surgeon will visit the clinic for appointments twice a month.
RSVPs are not required for the grand opening, but are appreciated. Call Maggie Lausten at (218) 894-8818 to RSVP.
