Lakewood Health System Foundation's 17th Annual Dinner Auction, Hats Off to Giving, is scheduled for Friday, April 9.
The goal for this year is to raise $20,000. Successful events, like the dinner auction, are a result of generous contributions from organizations. Groups may show support by way of a monetary donation or contributing a silent or live auction item(s). Organizations will be recognized both in the auction program and on Lakewood's Web site.
As part of its commitment to preserve and enhance the health and wellness of the people it serves, all proceeds from this foundation event will go to the Mission Fund, supporting a variety of projects throughout our region. Funding for past projects has focused on:
- Education and equipment to promote area youth fitness and to help kids incorporate and understand the importance of healthy lifestyle habits
- Training, education and equipment support for local fire and police departments
- Support of the Eagle Bend Public Library to serve homebound, elderly citizens
- Support of the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Diagnostic Clinic, serving central Minnesota
- Purchase and free distribution of children's bike helmets throughout the region in an effort to promote bicycle helmet safety
