A fast start combined with cold shooting by the visiting Menahga Braves allowed the Lady Wolverines to jump out to a quick 16-2 lead. But the Braves' Megan Cleveland started warming up from beyond the arc.
Cleveland finished with a game-high 29 points, including six three-pointers, but didn't get much help from the rest of the team as the Braves (10-6) saw their five-game winning streak end.
The Lady Wolverines' full-court press and zone defense created problems for Menahga from the get-go as they racked up some easy baskets from turnovers.

"Defensively, we knew [Menahga] could shoot and we did a good job of contesting their shots as well as helping each other out on defense," Lady Wolverine coach Brent Grengs said.
Brigetta Berg had five steals that led to some quick baskets. The Lady Wolverines took a 37-24 lead into the break.
The second half saw the Braves start hot. They pulled within 37-29 before the Lady Wolverines found their groove that sustained them in the first half. After settling down, they started making that extra pass for a higher percentage shot which allowed them to hit 40 points in the second half.
"We played with a lot of hustle and it was a game we deserved to win because of how hard we played," Grengs said. "Our entire team contributed in the victory."
Lorraine Endres netted 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Berg added 18 points and eight rebounds. Jordan Moenkedick netted 10 points for the Lady Wolverines.
The Lady Wolverines (5-11) lost to Hawley 68-55 on Monday and played at Breckenridge on Tuesday. They will close out the week by hosting Detroit Lakes at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Wadena-Deer Creek gymnasium.
