The Wadena-Deer Creek volleyball team remains undefeated after home wins over Hawley and Park Rapids Area last week.
Wadena-Deer Creek's Brigetta Berg sparked an intense effort for the Lady Wolverines, coming up with 16 kills and 12 digs in the three-game win over the Nuggets on Sept. 4.
Courtney Volkmann contributed 34 assist and 10 digs, Lorraine Endres and Brittany Ohrmundt each had six kills with Ohrmundt going 17-for-17 from the service line with four aces. Step Perkins had 30 digs to lead the Lady Wolverines backcourt.
"We started a little slow but as the game went on we played better and better," WDC coach Sue Volkmann said. "Our defense kept most balls in play and we attacked very well."
Berg again dominated at the net as the undefeated Lady Wolverines swept Park Rapids Area on Sept. 6. Berg had 18 kills and two stuff blocks in the three-game contest over the Panthers. She also went 14-for-17 at the service line with four aces as the Lady Wolverines remain undefeated at 3-0 for the season.

Endres paced the Lady Wolverines with three blocks and was 13-for-15 at the serving line with five aces. She also had five kills as the Lady Wolverines spread the wealth amongst themselves. Ohrmundt came up with 10 kills and 16 digs. Volkmann had 31 assists and three aces at the service line.
"This was our first conference game and so it was a good win for us," Volkmann said. "Park Rapids had a team without a lot of experience and we were able to control the game from the start. [They] had many unforced errors and we capitalized on a lot of free balls they sent over the net. We played a very consistent game throughout with everyone contributing."
Chelsey Lawson was 10-for-10 with an ace at the serving line. Perkins collected 12 digs and Kelly DeFoe contributed four kills.
The Lady Wolverines (3-0) hosted Frazee on Tuesday and will entertain Crosby-Ironton today (Thursday) at 7:30 p.m.
