KSTP personality to speak at 'Men's Night Out'

Take advantage of health screenings, educational resources, dinner and informative speakers at Tri-County Hospital's "Men's Night Out" on Tuesday, April 24 at the Wadena Memorial Auditorium.

"Men's Nite Out" is a free educational event on health for men 18 years and older. This year's keynote speaker is Jason Davis, host and executive producer of KSTP's "On the Road with Jason Davis."

Health screenings will be offered from 4-6 p.m. Tri-County Hospital will provide free screenings for glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, prostate-specific antigen and body-fat analysis. Informational booths will be available on CPR, home health, home monitoring, surgical procedures, as well as golfing and fishing tips by TCH physical therapists.

A soup and sandwich dinner will be served from 4:30-6 p.m. in the school lunchroom.

New this year will be demonstrations by Wadena County Sheriff's Department canine unit and the Minnesota DNR. Sheriff Mike Carr Jr. and Deputy Luke Manderschied will bring "Danny," the German Shepherd, to perform a drug search and attack demonstration. DNR Lt. Phil Meier will speak on water safety.

The evening program will kick off at 6 p.m. with a presentation on different types of cancer affecting men by oncologist Wade Swenson, M.D., followed by a panel discussion featuring local medical experts. Local on-air personality Rick Youngbauer will be the panel moderator, as well as master of ceremonies.

Jason Davis will round out the evening, sharing stories from his "On the Road" television show. Davis has spent the last 38 years in broadcast journalism. He will also talk about his recent diagnosis of prostate cancer.
