June Jubilee starts today (Thursday) with the Town & Country Breakfast at Burlington Northern Park in downtown Wadena.

The breakfast is from 7:30-10 a.m. and includes sausage, pancakes, rolls, juice and milk, as well as the opportunity to chat with friends and neighbors.

Brats and root beer floats will be served at the Depot from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. A steak fry will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Wadena VFW. The grand parade starts at 7 p.m. and typically has more than 100 different units. The Wadena Lions will be selling burgers from 6 to 8 p.m. at the corner of Dayton and Jefferson.

Friday has a number of new activities.

On Friday, June 19, the day begins with local merchants set up at Burlington Northern Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a "Life Live It" ducky drop at noon. Youth games and display booths also will be set up from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Burlington Northern Park.

The Wadena County Historical Museum will host the annual historic carnival from 1 to 4 p.m. at the museum.

Games for children, grilling out, bingo and a meat raffle will start after 3 p.m. at the Wadena Elks. The band "Boomtown" will play outside at the Wadena VFW.

Get out your running shoes for this year's Sunnybrook Stomp on Friday. The 5K run/walk is sponsored by Tri-County Health Care and begins with registration at 5:30 p.m. in the Lions Shelter on the east end of Sunnybrook Park in Wadena. The Kids 1K Race will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the 5K race starting immediately at its conclusion. Refreshments will be served following the race.

Saturday, June 20 is Family Fun Day at Sunnybrook Park. These events continue to grow each year.

The youth pancake breakfast is at 9 a.m. at the park followed by the youth fishing derby from 10 a.m. to noon. Other activities include crafts and games, food, baseball and softball batting, minnow races and root beer floats from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The kiddie tractor pull starts at 2:30 p.m. Trophies will be awarded.

A fireworks display will conclude the weekend activities at dusk Saturday, June 20 at the Wadena County Fairgrounds.
