Jerome K. "Jerry" Hensley, 68, of Thomastown Township, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 29, 2007.
He was born to Nobel and Mary (Ritter) Hensley on Feb. 15, 1939, in Port Arthur, Texas. He graduated from Morris High School in 1957. After high school he joined the National Guard where he reached the rank of lieutenant and also attended college for a short period of time. On April 18, 1960, he marriaged Janice Mae Allen in Morris. Together they made their home in Thomastown Township where he worked for many years as a general insurance agent. He loved spending time with his family, golfing with his friends, four-wheeling, fishing, attending his grandsons sporting events and wintering in Florida.
Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the Wadena Area Cancer Relay for Life.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Janice; daughter, Janell (James) Carr of Verndale; sons, Jeffrey of St. Cloud and Jason of Rio Rico, Ariz.; four grandchildren; brother, Darryl of Burlington, Iowa and his many close friends, business associates and clients. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jillene.
