Jerome Anthony Uselman, 82, of Bluffton and Wadena, passed away surrounded by his loving family early Monday morning, April 9, 2007, at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
He was born to Wolfgang and Clara (Kelzer) Uselman on Nov. 17, 1924, in Wadena. On May 14, 1946, he married Stella Rita Rydbom at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bluffton. Together they farmed in rural Wadena and raised their family. He has spent his lifetime in the Wadena area. He enjoyed loving his family, spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, visiting with his many friends and enjoying a good laugh with them, working his horses and doing favors for everyone. His smile, laugh and all the little things he did will be missed by many.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, April 12, at St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Herzing as celebrant. All of his grandchildren served as pallbearers. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in Wadena. The Johnson Memorial Home of Wadena was in charge of the arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond and Peter; sisters, Veronica and Irene.
Survivors include his wife, Stella; daughters, Frances (Bruce) Bakken of Bertha, Yvonne (Joe) Horstmann of Wadena, Peggy (Steve) Erickson of Sebeka, Sue (Bill) White of Hewitt; sons, John (Jill Westra), Duane (Donna) and Dave all of Wadena; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose of St. Cloud, Marie of Woodburn, Ore., Agnes of Wadena, Margaret of Wadena and Louise of Virginia, Minn.
