James Joseph Parent, 66, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to Fred and Marie (Chouinard) Parent on March 14, 1941, in Elk River. He attended school in Anoka. On Feb. 1, 1961, he married Deanna Mae Walker in Hilltop Village, Minn. They lived in Texas for many years before moving to Staples for a couple of years. They moved to Bertha in 1997. He worked as a painter for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and four wheeling.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 24, at Domian-Anderson Funeral Home in Bertha with the Rev. Mark Brown officiating. Domian-Anderson Funeral Home of Wadena was in charge of the arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tom.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna; sons, Bob of Princeton, and Mark of Bertha; daughters, Kim (Steve) Cain of Hewitt, and Kelly (Ron Camacho) Kennedy of Bertha; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brothers, Al (Diane) of Andover, Don (Bonny) of Aitken, Rick (Wendy) of St. Cloud; sister, Anna (Brian) Rider of Zimmerman.
