John "Jack" Goldie, 67, of Clarissa, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples.
He was born on Aug. 6, 1939, to Nicholas and Catherine (Breuer) Goldie in Wadena. He was educated in the Bluffton and New York Mills Schools. In 1988, he married Joan Speckeen in Brainerd. They made their home in Bertha while he drove a bulk milk truck for many years until he had to leave due to ill health. They moved to Clarissa. His hobbies were assembling puzzles and working. He was a resident at the Central Todd County Care Center for seven years. After moving to the nursing home, he became the popcorn salesman at the nursing home, selling popcorn to residents and staff to fund different activities at the home.
Funeral services were held Jan. 25 at the Church of the Nazarene in Hewitt with Pastor Johannes Marsland officiating. Burial was in the Oak Valley Cemetery with the Bielema Family Funeral Home in Wadena in charge of arrangements.
