Ivan Louis Boehland, 92, of Henning died April 13, 2006, at the Henning Health Care Center.
He was born March 28, 1914, in Bertha to Leo and Ida (Thrun) Boehland. He grew up and attended school in Bertha. He later farmed in the Bertha area. He married Doris Current on June 4, 1939, in Bertha. They made their home on the farm until 1974. She died Aug. 11, 1974. Shortly after that, Mr. Boehland moved to a hobby farm in Henning near East Battle Lake. He later moved into the Clement Manor in Henning and in October 2005, he entered the Henning Health Care Center.
His funeral was April 17 at the United Methodist Church in Henning with the Rev. Alan Anderson officiating. Casketbearers were Jerry Schwantz, Mark Schwantz, Dennis Boehland, Bob Wenker, Virgil Boehland and Leon Boehland. Burial was in the Woodstone Cemetery at Wrightstown. The Belmont Funeral Home in Henning was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon (Alex) Conley of Fergus Falls; three sisters, Lulu Culver of Monett, Mo., Edith Herzberg of Mankato, Betty (Les) Schwantz of Bertha; one brother, Arno (Anna Mae) Boehland of Bertha; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Bruce; his parents; and four brothers, George, Edwin, Urban, and Ernest.
