Isabel Lucille Proszek, 83, of Deer Creek, passed away March 10, 2009, at home with her daughter Shelley under hospice care.
She was born June 9, 1925, in Deer Creek to Charles Logan and Ida Pearl (McLaughlin) Tuffs. She grew up in Deer Creek and attended Deer Creek school. In October 1942, the Tuffs family moved to Seattle, Wash., where she graduated from high school. She was employed at Todd's Ship yard during World War II. She was also a meter maid and served many years as court administrator for Seattle Municipal Court. In 1995, she made her home in rural Deer Creek. She enjoyed camping, traveling and playing cards with her friends at the senior center in Deer Creek.
Services are not planned. Arrangements are provided by the Belmont Funeral Home of Henning.
Survivors include her daughter, Shelley Proszek of Deer Creek; two grandchildren; brothers, Lloyd (Kathy) Tuffs, Harold (Selma) Tuffs, Gene (Susan) Tuffs, and Melvin Tuffs, all of Washington; many other relatives; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pamela Sue Barker; sisters, Violet Birch, Lois Dahle and Margie Proszek; and brothers, Laurence Tuffs, Lewis Tuffs and LeRoy "Bud" Tuffs.
