A 1-month-old infant died Saturday morning in Underwood after life-saving efforts were performed.
The sheriff's office received a call at 5:07 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, of an infant unconscious and not breathing at the 31000 block of County Hwy 1 in Underwood. A family member was providing CPR and Otter Tail County deputies, Underwood Fire and Rescue and Ringdahl Ambulance personnel attempted life-saving efforts. The infant was pronounced dead at the scene. OTC Sheriff's Office detectives with assistance from the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating the incident and an autopsy was performed Sunday, Dec. 2. It's believed the death was accidental but the investigation is ongoing, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
