The Wolverine boys hockey team opened the past week with a victory, then suffered a loss and gained a forfeit win to run their season record to 16-6.
They defeated Mora 4-2 on Jan. 30 behind senior Justin Wolden's two goals. Zach Maas and Jascha Pettit had one goal apiece to help lead the Wolverines past the Mustangs for the second time this season.
The Wolverines out-shot the Mustangs 35-30 and goalie Derek Neu recorded 28 saves between the pipes.
On Feb. 1, the Wolverines hosted Morris-Benson and were defeated 4-2.
Less than a week after scoring his 100th career goal, Jascha Pettit reached 200 career points while assisting Wolden's goal in the third period. The goal with 9:51 left to play was the Wolverines first score of the night and gave Wolden his 100th career point.

This is the third time this season a Wolverine boys hockey player has reached the 100-point club and the second time in team history to reach 200.
Pettit's power-play goal with 3:58 remaining pulled the Wolverines within one at 3-2, but the Storm scored an empty-netter with 29 seconds left to escape with the victory.
Neu stopped 29 shots but was saddled with the loss.
The Wolverines were awarded a forfeit victory over Kittson Central on Saturday. Kittson Central lost more than half of their varsity starting lineup due to alcohol violations of Minnesota State High School League rules.
Next up for the Wolverines (16-6) will be the Northern Lakes Lightening at 7 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Breezy Point Arena in Pequot Lakes and then at Red Lake Falls on Saturday.
