The Henning Hornets held on for a slim 50-49 victory over the Verndale Pirates Friday in Park Region Conference cage action.
Sadie Ellenson canned 16 points for the Hornets while Sara Houselog added 13.
Taryn Fuller chalked up 15 points for Verndale while Elizabeth Johnson scored 13. Alicia Johnson had a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.
