A benefit for Tommy Harthan, Jr., a senior at Wadena-Deer Creek High School, will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Wadena-Deer Creek High School Commons.

Harthan was diagnosed July 3 with Osteosarcoma, or bone cancer. His course of treatment started with chemotherapy that will be followed by knee surgery. Following surgery, he will go through several months of rehabilitation and more chemotherapy.

The benefit will include a dinner, games, silent auction, bake walk and more. The goal of the benefit is to help the family with the many expenses they are now facing so they can concentrate fully on Tommy and his recovery.

Anyone interested in making a donation of an auction item or help in any other way can call Rhonda at (218) 639-6276. Monetary donations can be made out to the Tommy Harthan, Jr. Benefit Fund and sent to Mid-Central Federal Savings Bank, 520 South Jefferson Street, Wadena, MN, 56482.
