Graduation season is here. It started at the tech college last week and continues with high school graduations coming up.

For graduates, its an exciting time of new beginnings, calling their own shots in life.

Its also a scary time. What may have seemed boring in the past now seems safe, secure, unlike the unknown ahead.

The story of the three sisters on the front page is inspiring. They prove its never too late for new beginnings. That we have power to deal with setbacks like losing a job.

" You will have failures. Thats life. If you dont, youre not doing anything. Face it. Come up with a new plan. Go again.

" Be open to change. What you start out to do may not be the best for you. Life often guides us to discover talents and skills we didnt know we had. Its part of the amazing journey of living.

" Define success carefully. A great paying job is nice, but it wont guarantee a sense of inner peace. Whatever you do, seek meaning in your vocation whether its running a business, being a stay at home parent or working for little pay for a cause you truly care about.

" Seek balance. Life is not all work. Volunteer. Play well. Spend time with those you love.

It is a dangerous world out there too. Use the common sense your folks tried to pass on to you. And if you run into trouble, dont let pride stop you from turning to your family for help. Remember, you are loved. Family will support you.
