Grace Florence Ludovissie, 80, of Wadena, passed away quietly from cancer on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena.
She was born on June 19, 1926, on the family farm in Ward Township of Todd County to John and Emma (Sadlo) Kveton. She went to grade school at District 132 and graduated from Clarissa High School. She worked for four years at Munsingware in the Twin Cities prior to her marriage.
On Jan. 25, 1949, she married John Thomas Ludovissie at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Browerville. After her children were grown, she began working as a home health aid for the Wadena County Public Health Department. Her family was a very important part of her life. She enjoyed the time spent as a family and as the family size increased it brought her even more joy. Meal time was important to her and her reputation as an excellent cook meant the family was always well fed. She was also known to give away many rosaries to those in need. Her trips to Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Ill., always brought her great joy.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, April 4, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena with the Rev. Donald Wagner as celebrant. Honorary pallbearers were all of her grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Andy Ludovissie, Mark Ludovissie, Robbie Ludovissie, Don Kveton, Ron Kveton and Dennis Tichy. Burial took place in the Calvary Cemetery in Wadena following the services. The Johnson Memorial Home of Wadena was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas (Mary) of Verndale, Joseph of Crystal Lake, Ill., Michael of Vista, Calif., William (Judy) of Loman and Robert (Kim) of Wadena; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence of New Hope; sister, Irene (Robert) Stern of Upsala; and a very special friend, Mary Stroot, of Wadena.
