Go Wadena, Go Twins!

Wadena mayor Wayne Wolden and Wadena-Deer Creek superintendent Virginia Dahlstrom display the "Shooting Star" baseball quilt made by wives of the American League Central champion Minnesota Twins at Monday night's school board meeting in the Memorial Auditorium. Perkins + Will, the district's architectural firm, purchased the quilt for $6,010 in an auction by the Twins. The Twins wives sweetened that amount to $10,000. The fundraising project is intended to help the city of Wadena rebuild its youth baseball facilities. Wolden and WDC baseball/youth baseball coach Kyle Dykhoff will be bringing the quilt to WDC Elementary Wednesday.
