George Thomas Ditsworth, 75, of Wadena, passed away Sept. 11, 2007, at his home.

He was born to Harold and Grace (Hannifan) Ditsworth on Jan. 20, 1932, in Swea City, Iowa. He married Emelda "Susie" Uselman Sept. 15, 1953, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena.

He was a member of the Wadena community for 38 years and was involved with the VFW, the Rod and Gun Club and gun safety training. He was retired from the military, having served in the Air Force for 20 years. He was also a retired bus driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, putting puzzles together and fixing various items.

The Funeral Mass was Friday, Sept. 14, at St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Wagner as celebrant. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery in Wadena. Honorary pallbearers were all of his grandchildren. Active pallbearers were LeRoy Rentz, Wally Cosen, Scott Anderson, Daniel Brauch, John Barr and Duane Imdieke. Military honors were given by the Elmer Goche Post 3922, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wadena. Arrangements were with Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena ( www.johnsonmemorialhome.com ).

Survivors include his wife; sons, Tom (Marilyn) of Audubon, Iowa, Daniel (Kim) of North Branch, and Bryan of Wahpeton, N.D.; daughter, Carla (Mark) Schwantz of Bertha; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Timothy.
