Gary V. Rousslang, 56, of Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Verndale, passed away on Sept. 12, 2007, in Texas.
He was born to Anthony "Tony" and Francella "Fran" (Vornbrock) Rousslang, Sr., on Jan. 15, 1951, in Wadena. He married Konnie Peterson in 1974 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wadena. She passed away in 1986. He met Denise Enberg and they were wed in 1987 at the Assembly of God Church in Verndale.
He attended St. Ann's Catholic School and graduated in 1969 from Wadena High School. He was a recent graduate of Amarillo Community College in Amarillo, Texas. He was a member of the Verndale, Corpus Christi and Amarillo communities. He was employed by Ameri Pride as a plant production manager. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and cooking. He served in the Navy and was a member of the Army National Guard.
Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Verndale with the Rev. Jill Holm officiating. Honorary pallbearers were his nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Paul Enberg, Jaron Enberg, Scott Rousslang, John Rousslang, and Brian Shively. Military honors were given by D 2-136 CAB Minnesota National Guard. Interment was at Greenlawn Cemetery in Verndale. Arrangements were with Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena ( www.johnsonmemorialhome.com ).
Survivors include his wife, Denise; sons, Paul (April) Enberg of Verndale, Jaron Enberg of Houston, Texas, Scott Rousslang of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Joshua Rousslang of Big Lake; daughters, Sherri (Dean) Sonmor of Dalton, JoNeen (Magnus) Ohlaher of Los Angeles, and Shae (Jim) Gaulhe of Hillman; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Joe (Dianne) Rousslang of Verndale, David (Barb) Rousslang, and Tony (Mary) Rousslang, Jr., of Wadena; and sisters, Gloria (Robert) Toews of Staples, and Kathy (Steve) Richter of Verndale. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Konnie; and sister, Shirley Worden.
