Flu vaccine at reduced cost or free is available this flu season in addition to the flu vaccine we provide every year.
"We are pleased to be able to offer an additional flu vaccine this year. This vaccine is purchased with assistance from the Minnesota Department of Health from our same supplier, allowing us to give flu vaccine to adults without insurance or with insurance that does not fully cover the flu vaccine. We are also able to provide school located flu vaccine clinics for students and teachers this year," said Cindy Pederson, family health supervisor.
The first school-located flu vaccine clinic will be at Wadena Deer Creek Schools on Monday, Oct. 25. Information is being sent home with students. There will be school located flu vaccine clinics scheduled at Menahga, Sebeka and Verndale Schools soon.
Additional Public Health-sponsored flu clinic dates include:
- Wednesday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Menahga Family Center.
- Thursday, October 28th from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Public Health, 22 Dayton Ave SE, Wadena.
- Flu Shot Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon at Public Health on Friday, Oct. 29, Nov. 5, Nov. 12 and Nov. 19.
