Frances M. Peterson, 84, of Staples died March 21, 2006, at the Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples.
She was born on April 21, 1921, to John and Mary (Freudt) Hoemberg. She married Vernon L. Peterson on Dec. 17, 1938. He died June 17, 1999. She did housekeeping for different families. Her hobbies were working and raising her children.
Her funeral was March 24 at the Staples Church of Christ with the Rev. Barry Klein officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples with the Bielema Family Funeral Home in Verndale in charge of arrangements. Casketbearers were Doug Peterson, Barry Taft, Jeff Bjerga, Eric Longbella, Todd Hirschey and Howard Kropuenske.
Survivors include one son, William (Jeanette) Peterson of Coon Rapids; two daughters, Judean Longbella of Coon Rapids and Shirley (Ervin) Bjerga of Motley; three brothers, Bernard, Lloyd and Leon Hoemberg; two sisters, Delorse Hensel and Mary Lou Hoemberg; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Matthew and Edwin and two sisters, Josephine and Rose.
