Landowners and community leaders who want to learn more about navigating the wind energy arena are invited to a special forum from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, March 12 at the Long Prairie City Hall. The seminar will help participants understand general wind information, wind rights and development choices, how to secure an agreement with an energy company, a larger view of the issue, and get a sense of why wind energy is a unique opportunity.

"The market for renewable energy is so strong now," said Kathy Gaalswyk, Initiative Foundation president. "We believe it represents a real economic opportunity for many of our rural communities."

The Initiative Foundation, in partnership with the Southwest Initiative Foundation, Windustry, and the Rural Energy Development Initiative is hosting this free event. For more information, contact Don Hickman, program manager with the Initiative Foundation at (320) 631-2043, or e-mail dhickman@ifound.org .
