Wadena and Deer Creek firemen fought a blaze Monday afternoon at a rural residence threee miles southwest of Wadena in Compton Township. A one-story rambler and a metal garage were engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. A house and garage owned by Randy Mills of Wadena was destroyed by fire Monday afternoon in Compton Township of Otter Tail County.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office received a report of a fire at 30346 County Highway 75 at 2:40 p.m. Units of the Wadena and Deer Creek Fire Departments were dispatched.
No one was in the home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
According to the OTC Sheriff's Office, the cause of the fire is unknown but at this time it does not appear suspicious. Investigation into the cause of the fire is being conducted by the OTC Sheriff's Office and the State Fire Marshal's Office.
