Wadena-Deer Creek School Superintendent Jerome Enget announced Monday he will retire at the end of the school year in 2008.
Enget, who is about to enter his seventh year with the WDC district in 2007-08, said he's seen a lot of changes in school administration, particularly in the arena of finance. But overall, he said, he'll have a lot of fond memories to take into his retirement.
"I've truly enjoyed it," he said Monday.

Enget said he has even grown used to friendly ribbing from community members about being a North Dakotan.
"It comes with the territory," he said with a smile.
Members of the WDC School Board thanked Enget for his work, and for the one-year notice, which will allow a thorough search for a new superintendent.
"We do appreciate all the work you've done for the district," Taves said.
Enget will officially retire June 30, 2008.
