Elda O. Wimer, 90, of Henning, died on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at her home.
She was born Feb. 17, 1917, to John and Sophie (Austin) Brekke of Elbow Lake. She married Wilson Wimer of Persia, Iowa, on Oct. 4, 1941. They lived in Fergus Falls and in Shelby, Iowa, and in l947, they purchased a farm near Henning, where she lived until the death of her husband. In 1977, she moved into Henning and worked at the Henning Nursing Home for 11 years. She loved to embroider dish towels and pillow cases and watch TV. She moved to Clement Manor in 1999.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 9 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Henning with the Rev. Roger Johnson officiating. Casket bearers were Dan Brekke, Douglas Brekke, Dean Brekke, Dale Brekke, Jerry Wimer and Glen Harris. Interment was in the Inman cemetery at Henning. Survivors include her sister, Iona Brekke, Fergus Falls; a brother, Vernon Brekke, Fargo; a special sister-in-law, Ferne Brekke of Fergus Falls; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson; her father and mother; brothers, Irving Brekke and his wife, Mildred, Sylvester (Sal) Brekke and his wife, Floral and Donavan Brekke, and sister-in-law, Betty Brekke.
