Wadena-Deer Creek FFA recognized as "2-Star National Chapter"
The Wadena-Deer Creek FFA Chapter was recognized as a "Two-Star National Chapter" at the 91st National FFA Convention. The national convention was held in Indianapolis, Ind. The FFA program recognized chapters from around the country that actively practice the mission and strategies of the organization.
The Wadena-Deer Creek FFA Chapter received honors for their activities. These activities included "College Tours," "Garden to Kitchen" program, and "Business and Industry Tours." In the Building Communities category "Garden Shed Construction," FFA Day at the Capitol," and "Cherry Pie Social," were selected. In the Strengthening Agriculture category, the chapter conducted "Children's Pedal Pulls," "Floats in Local Parades," and "Ag Safety Day."
The chapter was also ranked within the top 17 FFA chapters in the National Chapter Applications at the Minnesota State FFA Convention to qualify for the national competition. "The Wadena-Deer Creek FFA Chapter would like to thank all the businesses and individuals that supported these chapter activities making these awards possible," said Richard Muckala, FFA advisor at Wadena-Deer Creek Schools.
