Edward B. Kelling, 89, passed away Feb. 26, 2009 in St. Cloud.

He was born March 16, 1919, to Fred and Anna (Matthiof) Kelling in Malmo, Minn. He graduated with the Aitkin High School class of 1938. He served in the Army during World War II in the Aleutian Islands and was honorably discharged in October 1945. He married Lucille Shriver in October 1948. She passed away in October 1989. He married Bernice Curtis on April 19, 1997, at Balsamlund Lutheran Church in rural Aldrich.

As a part of the Wadena community since 1950, he will be remembered as a millwork foreman for 37 years at Merickel Lumber Mills, and as a member of the VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and agate collecting.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 3 in the Balsumlund Lutheran Church in rural Aldrich with the Rev. Del Moen officiating. Pallbearers were Bob Holman, Jim Kelling, Fred Kelling, Dale Kelling, Kenneth Kelling and Steve Glover. Interment was in the Wadena Cemetery in Wadena. Arrangements were with the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena ( www.johnsonmemorialhome.com ).

Survivors include his wife, Bernice; stepson, DeWayne (Beverly) Glover of Wadena; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, LeVerne Kelling of Braham; and sisters, Edna Holman of Mora, and Freda Asp of McGrath.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Anna; his first wife, Lucille; brothers, Joe and Arnold Kelling; and two nephews.
