The memorial service for Dr. Roger Huelsnitz, Sr. will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Domian-Anderson Chapel in Bertha, with Pastor Marli Danielson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Dr. Huelsnitz passed away on Sept. 6, 2012, at his home in Homerville, Ga., at the age of 64 years.
Roger Wayne Huelsnitz was born on June 25, 1948, to Willard and Ethel (Johnson) Huelsnitz in Bertha, Minn. He served in the U.S. Airforce from Oct. 25, 1966, until his honorable discharge on Oct. 18, 1970.
Dr. Huelsnitz will be remembered in the Bertha area as a physician who focused his talent on caring for families. He loved what he did, and his patients loved him in return. By 1987 he moved to Georgia, where he was a physician for Clinch Memorial Hospital. He was also a member of the Georgia Academy of Family Practitioners, Clinch County Chamber of Commerce, the Medical Association of Georgia, the American Medical Association and Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Ethel; and son, Barry Huelsnitz.

He is survived by his children, Roger of New York, Thomas of Athens, Ga., Jennifer Farber (Richard Teigland) of Bertha and Jill (Travis) Whitley of Enigma, Ga.; grandchildren, Chelsey Farber, Joshua Farber, Maggie Teigland, Austin Whitley and Lauren Whitley; brothers, Gary (Ellen) Huelsnitz and Curt (Sue) Huelsnitz; sisters, Kathy (Lyle) Boehland, Marian (Wally) Esteb and Candy Decker; a special aunt, Alverna "Toots" Gossell; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were with the Schuller Family Funeral Home's Domian-Anderson Chapel in Bertha.
