The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines fought back from a 4-0 deficit Friday to topple Parkers Prairie 10-7 in a non-conference matchup in Wadena.
"The players came out ready to play, determined, and with something to prove," WDC Head Coach Kyle Dykhoff said.
The Wolverines were down 6-2 in the bottom of the fourth when they exploded for five runs.
Matt Hagen led the way for the Wolverines with a 3-for-4 day at the plate, a pair of runs and four RBIs. Ryan Nelson backed up the WDC star by going 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, a triple and three ribbies.
"Ryan has given us a big lift both defensively and offensively," Dykhoff said.

Also swinging some heavy lumber for the Wolverines were Colter Pettit and Kevin Tumberg. Pettit set the table with two hits and two stolen bases and brought in two runs. Tumberg, like Hagen, came up with a pair of doubles. Gannon George and Josh Sweere combined for two hits and two RBIs.
The Panthers were led by Jason Arvidson who went 3-for-5, scored twice and drove in a run. Matt Bernu and Trey Thompson combined for four hits, three runs and two RBIs.
Tumberg went the distance for the mound win. The WDC right-hander was touched for 11 hits but walked only one batter while fanning five. Jason Arvidson was hung with the loss.

Shirmers went 3-for-5 with three runs, McMorrow drove in five runs with three hits and Tucker Coborn supported his own pitching cause by going 3-for-3 with two ribbies and three runs.
Seven Wolverines, Matt Hagen, Cody Redfield, Josh Sweere, Cole Lugert, Kevin Tumberg, Gannon George and Tyler Wohlwend, collected two safeties apiece in Game 1. Wohlwend drove in two runs. The Wolverines out-hit the Panthers 14-12.
