Doris M. Kupfer, 85, formerly of Wadena, passed away Jan. 4, 2009.
She was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Wadena, to John and Marie (Kicker) Maroney. After graduating, she went to Minneapolis where she attended business school. She married Robert Kupfer on Sept. 9, 1947, and had one daughter, Sandra. They moved to Seattle in 1950, where she worked as a retail clerk for the A&P store in West Seattle until her retirement.
Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Jan. 12 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in West Seattle. Burial will be at Tahoma National Cemetery. The Howden-Kennedy Funeral Home ( www.Howden-Kennedy.com ) was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Robert; their daughter, Sandra (Jim) Lapenski; two granddaughters; 5 great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Maroney of Minneapolis; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one great-granddaughter.
