Ethel (Dolly Doll) Kranitz, 66, of Minong, Wis., lost her long battle with cancer on Jan. 10, 2009, at the Spooner, Wis. hospital.
She was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Morris, Minn., the first of 12 children born to Francis and Ethel Doll of Deer Creek. After her family moved to the Deer Creek area in 1959, she graduated from Henning High School in 1960. She married Ronald Kranitz on April 2, 1966, in Minneapolis.
She worked for Prudential Insurance Company in Minneapolis until 1972 when she permanently moved to the Minong, Wis., area where she and her husband farmed, and she worked and retired from Link Brothers in Minong. She loved animals, being outdoors, and enjoyed her extended family.
She was cremated by Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home. A memorial service will be planned in spring 2009. Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of more than 42 years, Ron Kranitz, parents, Francis and Ethel Doll of Deer Creek; nine siblings, Patsy Schelske of St. Cloud, Jean (Daryl) Fields of New Hope, Linda (Richard) Zuelow of Crystal, Jim Doll of Deer Creek, Tim Doll of Deer Creek, Jeff (Barb) Doll of Deer Creek, Jill Doll of St. Cloud, Tom (Connie) Doll of Hewitt, Fran Doll of Alexandria; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny (an infant), and Robert Doll from Henning.
