Crandall receives award at Wadena County Historical Society annual meeting

Larry Denny presented John Crandall, long-time president of the Wadena County Historical Society, an award at the Annual Meeting on Oct. 19. The plaque commemorates his more than 30 years of dedication to the organization. In addition to his service as a board member he has written several books about the history of the area and spearheaded a number of projects of the Society including research into the fur trade area trading posts in Wadena County. In other business, members of the Society elected three new members and one renewing member to the board. The 2018 board will include: Helen Apel, Larry Denny, Chuck Horsager (ex-officio), Darlene Leonard, Lee Michaelsen, Rosalie Miller, Carmen Pederson, Bette Peterson, Elaine Schmitz, and Betty White. Officers will be elected in January by the newly seated board.
