New and aspiring entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to learn from successful business owners during a 10-week Planning the Entrepreneurial Venture course offered in three lakes area communities.
The course, sponsored by Business and Entrepreneurial Services at Minnesota State Community and Technical College - Detroit Lakes, is scheduled in Detroit Lakes, Park Rapids and Perham.
BES Director Beth Pridday said Planning the Entrepreneurial Venture provides a comprehensive introduction to entrepreneurship that is designed for anyone who is interested in starting a business or who has been in business for less than five years. The course is designed to guide participants through the steps of business planning, develop entrepreneurial skills and create a strong foundation for their business.
"It's a great course to explore that entrepreneurial idea or to further advance your business and its practices," Pridday said, "and the insight provided by the guest speakers and professionals is invaluable."
Pridday will teach the series with Josie Hendrickx of Perham, co-owner of two Subway restaurants and a former clothing store owner, and Ann Johnson of Park Rapids, owner of Merry Bee's in Park Rapids and Dorset.
