Council accepts low tree removal quote

Tree removal quotes were received for nine trees in Wadena. The city council accepted the quote by Carr's Tree Service to remove the nine trees for $1,635 plus sales tax. Carr's Tree Service had the low bid out of four quotes. The nine trees are hazardous or diseased and were marked for removal earlier in the summer, said Wadena Public Works Director Ron Bucholz. All of the trees are on private property. The property owners will pay for the removal or it could go on their property taxes. Stump removal is not required but the property owners can choose to have the stumps removed for a fee.
