Community education classes starting this fall

Registration for Wadena-Deer Creek-Bluffton fall Community Education classes is now open.

A variety of classes is available for all ages. The course catalog was mailed to area residents but a copy can also be picked up at the WDC Middle/High School/District Office or found online at www.wdc2155.k12.mn.us .

Defensive driving full and refresher classes will be offered in September. A group hypnosis class to lose weight and stop smoking will be offered in October.

Other classes include Home Stretch, an education tool for first time homebuyers offered by the Central Minnesota Housing Partnership in collaboration with the Home Ownership Center, genealogy, social media and photography.

Family Book Night will be Monday, Oct. 12. Families will meet and discuss a book over pizza and juice. Registration is due by Sept. 17 to ensure the book is ordered.

Cupcake decorating for children and adults will be Monday, Oct. 19. Cupcakes are all the rage right now and this is a way to discover new ways to decorate cupcakes while spending time with a child or grandchild.

Wadena attorney Matt Van Bruggen and Licensed Social Worker Sara Stone will give an informative presentation on wills and estates Thursday, Oct. 8.

Several yoga classes will be offered this fall from instructors Ann Pate and Tamara Moore. Check the course catalog for specific information.

Back by popular demand, open gym will be available Sundays. It's an opportunity for families to have a place to go for activity once the weather is cold. Watch the WDC website for the opening date.

Early Childhood Family Education and preschool are also available this fall.

Classes fill up quickly, so register early. There are several ways to register. The course list was mailed to residences in the area. It is also available at www.wdc2155.k12.mn.us . Call (218) 632-2396, fax a registration form to (218) 632-2199, mail the form to WDCB Community Education, 600 Colfax Ave. SW, Wadena, MN 56482 or drop off the form at WDC Middle/High School/District Office at 600 Colfax Ave. SW.
