An article on the Monday snow totals in the March 8 edition of the Wadena Pioneer Journal noted that Wadena-Deer Creek Schools would make up a missed day of school on March 29, a day assigned as a make up snow day on the school calendar. The school board made an amendment to the calendar March 6 and will not make students make up the missed day of school on March 5.
Superintendent Lee Westrum said the students are set to have enough contact hours without having students make up the day, pending any more snow days. Board members approved keeping March 29 as a staff development day, giving students the day off leading up to Good Friday.
