Wadena citizens can learn about the upcoming southeast infrastructure project - and offer input - at 5:30 tonight in the city council chambers.
"We're mainly looking to bring the public up to date," city administrator Brad Swenson said.
The project, which is expected to cost more than $9 million, will revamp the water network, sewers, streets and sidewalks south of U.S. Highway 10 and east of Jefferson Street. With council direction, over the next year engineers will complete final design as city leaders decide how to pay for the project. Construction is scheduled to start in May 2015, with the south half completed by winter and the north half in 2016.
Council members, city staff and representatives from the engineering firm Bolton and Menk, who presented the project's preliminary design to the council last month, will attend the open house.

The city sent a letter about the meeting to all affected residents. Besides learning about the project, citizens are encouraged to offer "concerns, thoughts or comments," Swenson said.
"I hope we get a good turnout," he said. "That's the intention of doing this."
